PM cares for whom?

PM Cares Fund has been flooded with huge donations from individuals and organisations, no transparency is being maintained about the utilisation of the fund

PM Cares Fund has been flooded with huge donations from individuals and organisations, no transparency is being maintained about the utilisation of the fund, migrants are being asked for fare to reach home, lakhs of poor are on the verge of losing the battle for survival while PM Cares Fund accumulates

PM CARES Fund should be audited, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has demanded from PM Narendra Modi.

Rahul Gandhi said, the record of the money received and spent should be made public.

"The PM Cares Fund has received huge contributions from PSUs and major public utilities like the Railways.

It's important that PM ensures the fund is audited and that the record of the money received and spent is available to the public," Rahul Gandhi tweeted

Since the coronavirus outbreak, there have been several appeals from the PM, corporates and noted public figures to contribute to the fund

The PM CARES Fund, has seen several high-profile contributions from almost all major industrial groups, movie stars and government departments.

However, opposition parties have raised questions about the necessity of the fund when the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund already exists since 1948.

Rahul Gandhi earlier this week slammed the railways for charging fares from migrant workers, but contributing Rs 151 crore to the fund.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Railways is donating Rs 151 crore in PM-CARES Fund. Solve this puzzle!" Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi.

The fund will not be audited by the national auditor - Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG)

"Since the fund is based on donations, we have no right to audit the charitable organisation," sources in the CAG offices had said.

Congress has also designed an action plan to open up the economy

Rahul Gandhi has suggested eight fold path suggesting measures for different areas of economy

A stimulus package of 65000 crores has been suggested for people in need

Migrants are still stranded and forced to walk back home as they are receiving no help from the government

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has asked the government to be transparent

Congress has demanded that government must tell what are the plans after May 17

Despite the huge donations in the PM cares fund, new stimulus package required immediately is getting delayed.
