Interlocutors failed to convince the protesters at Shaheen Bagh in the second round of talks.

Interlocutors failed to convince the protesters at Shaheen Bagh in the second round of talks.

SC-appointed interlocutors Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran visited the Shaheen Bagh,on Thursday afternoon.

Sanjay Hegde assured the protesters, "as long as there is Supreme Court, you will be heard."

Sanjay Hegde said- We want the solution to be found while Shaheen Bagh remains intact

Hegde told the protesters that no one should bother with the performance of Shaheen Bagh.

Reacting to the  assurances, protesters said, Shaheen Bagh is our identity now and we also want our rights to be protected.

Another protester said, We are ready to meet the PM and hug him but he should be willing to come.

One of the protesters asked, Where does PM Modi wants to take our children to?

Sadhana Ramachandran spoke to the protesters of Shaheen Bagh and said,"There is no problem that cannot be resolved".

Hegde admitted that the interlocutors want Shaheen Bagh to be an example of performance.

Sadhana Ramachandran assured that Shaheen Bagh is intact and will remain, we just want to open the path.

During the conversation, a protestor called the petition filed in the Supreme Court as false.

Sadhana said that if we had such an atmosphere here, we will not be able to come tomorrow.

The interlocutors invited a meeting at some other place where there are only women.

The protesters at Shaheen Bagh have been sitting-in against the citizenship amendment legislation for more than two months.

Protesters said they would clear the protest site only after the CAA, NRC and NPR were removed.

Ramachandran said all the points will be put forward before the Supreme Court and discussed in detail.

On Monday, the Supreme Court observed that the blockade of the road at Shaheen Bagh was "troubling" ....

....and suggested the protesters go to another site where no public place would be blocked.

The apex court also asked Hegde  to "play a constructive role as an interlocutor"...

... to persuade the protesters to move to an alternative site.

The protesters argued that they have not blocked the whole stretch.

It is Delhi Police which barricaded the whole road in the name of security.

"It is they who did it and are now blaming us for the blockade,” an elderly woman said.
