Russia claims 269 Ukrainian drones intercepted within 12 hours

Two children were killed and seven others injured when debris from a Ukrainian drone struck a private children’s centre in Russia’s southwestern city of Krasnodar, regional authorities said on Monday.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said the injured children were receiving medical treatment, while two adults had also been admitted to hospitals in the city.

“Drone debris fell on a private children’s centre in Krasnodar. Sadly, two children died,” Kondratyev wrote on the Max social media platform, extending condolences to their families.

The claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from Ukrainian authorities.

The overnight attack also damaged residential properties, apartment buildings under construction and warehouse facilities, according to the governor.

Russian e-commerce company Ozon said its logistics centre in Krasnodar had been struck on Sunday night.

Employees were evacuated and no casualties were reported at the facility, while warehouse intake operations were temporarily suspended.

The company said it was the third attack on one of its warehouses this year, following strikes on facilities in Samara on Saturday and Orenburg on Sunday.

Separately, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed that air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 269 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over several regions during a 12-hour period on Sunday.

The ministry said the drones were brought down between 8 am and 8 pm Moscow time. The figure could not be independently confirmed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier accused Ukraine of repeatedly targeting civilian and logistics infrastructure with missiles and drones over the previous 40 days. He said Russian forces were intensifying military pressure and continuing offensive operations across the front.
